Huh?

CNN Poll: Nation split on Bush as uniter or divider (CNN Link)

49% Think he is a uniter
49% Think he is a divider

By definition, doesn't that make him a divider? And who the hell thought up the headline?

Dingo,

You got me laughing. I think Bush is a very controversial politician.

I also think we live in a divided age, and any politician who stands for anything gets rebuked pretty harshly by those who don't agree with him or her. In just the last week, I have seen Hillary, Obama, Kerry, Feinstein and Dean slammed and fried by the "left". Then on the "right" I've seen slammed Hillary, Bush ( a minority opinion, but intensely held), some judge or another whose name I've forgotten (person agreed with the decision, but disagreed as to the reasoning) etc.

This is getting ridiculous. Anybody in public office who expresses any opinion is getting bombarded with criticism. People don't even want to listen to different ideas from within their own party! This political atmosphere reminds me of the early 70's or stories I've read about struggle meetings in China.
