It's Time

As much as I think we need to stay in Iraq longer, it is now time to get out.

Reaching out to the Sunni Arab community, Iraqi leaders called for a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces and said Iraq's opposition had a "legitimate right" of resistance.

The Iraqis want us out and they have greenlighted insurgents to continue to attack U.S. troops. It is time for our troops to come home.

Iraqi leaders call on U.S. to set withdrawal schedule

If, after December 15, the elected government of Iraq calls for US withdrawal, it will be a moment of truth for many people across the political spectrum here.

If the US pulls out according to the democratically determined wishes of Iraqis, will the "anti-imperialists" screaming "no blood for oil" admit they were wrong?

If the US does NOT pull out according to the democratically determined wishes of Iraqis, will the right-wing hawks admit they DID have imperialistic designs in going to war?

those are questinos that only time will tell. We did, however, turn over soverignty to the Iraqis over a year ago. We said then that we would leave if asked then (Powell was the Sec of State at the time).
