Yeah... Right...

Let me get this right... Conservatives believe in the sanctity of life for a brain damaged woman, but are willing to fry kids and the mentally retarded at the drop of the hat.

Liberals don't believe the state can take the life of a convicted murder, but a mother can abort a fetus.

Conservatives believe in the sanctity of marriage, except now.  A christian scientist can refuse treatment for their child for religious reasons, but terri's husband can't refuse for other reasons.

Liberals think a person making medical decisions on religious grounds is a moron, but a husband who wants to pull a feeding tube on the wifes alleged wishes is brave.

Conservatives call for a culture of life, except in the middle east where the the death of innocents is called collateral damage not right to life.

Liberals seem to talk more about the death of iraqis than US troops

Conservatives want to protect our country by stripping it of all the civil rights and freedoms that make the country worth fighting for.

Liberals are so concerned with government intrusion into our privacy that it would leave us completely vulnerable to those who would want to harm us.

Conservatives believe the state needs to protect a fetus until it is born and then wants to completely forget about it for the rest of its life.

Liberals don't give a damn about a fetus until it is born and then think the state is responsible for its care until it dies of old age in boca raton.

Conservatives believe the state can sentence a man to death, but a a terminally ill cancer patient can't choose when to end their own life.

Am I getting this all right?  Can someone please explain this to me?

Welcome to MY world. Let's have a beer and cross sticks.
Won't change a damn thing but at least, for a couple of hours, we'll live in a sane world- where being behind the eight ball is only a reference to a game.
I read your comment this AM, and noted it in a post.
I'm going to do the same with this post, tomorrow morning. This needs to be read.

Yes, it sounds like you've got that about right. Explain it to you? First I'd have to figure it out for myself. Banging my head against the wall doesn't seem to be helping, though it's what I want to do when I read the news these days...

of course on the latest release, Bush believes in a culture of life... unless you are poor. than a hospital can pull the tube without consent.

I give up. I am going to go take a nap...
