The $87 Billion Republican Giveaway

Ok, lets set the record straight. Bush keeps calling Kerry a flip-flopper for voting for the $87 billion supplemental bill and then against it. This is what happened. The original bill proposed in the Senate would have paid for the $87 billion by rolling back the tax cut for the top 2% of wage earners. This bill, Senator Kerry voted for. But, because the Republicans no longer believe in fiscal responsibility, they voted against it. After this bill was defeated, it was changed so there would be no repeal of the tax cut. The Republicans voted for this version and Kerry voted against it because it was not fiscally responsible. So, while Kerry voted for the $87 billion before he voted against it, the republicans voted against it before they voted for it. The Bush Administration along with Republican Congress is the first group in history to give tax cuts while at a time of war. When I say 'history,' I don't just mean American History... I mean world history. Kerry should be proud of his protest vote against the Republican irresponsibility.
